International Education

Thinking of the world as the wider context for learning

The concept of international mindedness is an essential part of the International Baccalaureate (IB).

The characteristics of the IB mission statement and learning community profile reflect the multidimensional construct of international mindedness, which includes social responsibility, interconnectedness, openness and perspective-taking.

Embrace the challenges of a global world and appreciate diversity

The IB Leaner Profile

This is one of the ways in which we promote international mindedness with emphasis on human capacities and responsibilities that transcend academic success.

International week

Thanks to the active participation of our families, and the diversity of our school community, CEM students can immerse themselves in a world of learning.

PYP Units of Inquiry

A 6-8 week in-depth exploration of a concept. There are six transdisciplinary themes of global significance that guide the units of inquiry at each year level during each year of study (where we are, how we express ourselves, who we are or sharing the planet…).

International mindedness involves open-minded inquiry into diverse perspectives, a critical appreciation of different points of view and a desire to take positive action. It involves the ability to learn, the motivation to act and the courage to disagree.
