For the second time since the prestigious FORBES magazine launched its list of the best schools in Spain, Colegio Europeo de Madrid has been selected as one of the 100 Best Schools 2022.

Our school has been included in this prestigious list because of our methodology to offer maximum learning opportunities, for having technology as a very important pillar within the school stage, and for our mission to prepare each student for the challenges of the future, helping them to develop their personal skills.

This exclusive list was compiled by a committee of expert educators, psychologists and education professionals selected by the prestigious magazine, who evaluated more than 300 schools based on 36 criteria. Factors such as student support, academic results, educational offerings, co-curricular activities, facilities, safety and student well-being, among others, were taken into account.

Forbes has analysed more than 300 schools from all over Spain, “according to the criteria that best define excellence in the 21st century”. A committee made up of educationalists, psychologists and education professionals have been in charge of drawing up this list, based on “36 objective criteria dissected into seven blocks”, highlighting the ratio of students per teacher, levels of attention to the needs of students, student support, the percentage of students who complete their school life at the school, academic results, languages taught, the approach to digital learning, the personal development programme, facilities and school services, among others.

CEM on the FORBES list:

“It aims to prepare its students for the challenges of the future, helping them to develop their personal skills. Adaptable people, with emotional and intellectual stability, capable of using their natural creativity to succeed in the world to which they belong.

The methodology applied aims to offer its students maximum learning opportunities, that they understand the application of the subjects to real life, and that they enjoy their training process. In addition, technology is a very important pillar in their schooling, as it is a tool that personalises their studies.

In order to comply with these principles, CEM has a series of programmes that consolidate the basis of its project, both for infant and primary school students. These include the psychomotor skills programme, the baby polyglot programme, mental arithmetic and philosophy for children”.

Cognita schools also featured in FORBES list:

This year we are pleased to share this recognition with seven other schools from our Cognita family in Spain: Hastings School), The English Montessori School (TEMS) and Mirasur School, all in Madrid; British School of Barcelona, British School of Valencia; El Limonar International School Murcia and El Limonar International School Villamartín in Alicante.
